Are you aware that:

As a motor vehicle insurance policy holder you have the right to choose the repairer who you wish to carry out the required repairs on your vehicle and you are not obliged to only use the insurance companies appointed repairer.

This has been agreed between the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and the Association of British Insurers (ABI).

The only exception is where this, for commercial reasons, has been made an express condition of the policy and has been written into the insurance policies terms and conditions to which you will have been made aware.

With this in mind Droitwich Garage Bodyshop repairs all makes and models of cars to the highest possible standards. Using the latest painting technology and computer estimating systems, we can work with your insurance company with the minimum effort from you the customer and still get your car back to you in original condition in the shortest amount of time.

For an estimate or to book your vehicle in for repair contact David McBride – Bodyshop Manager on 01905 797777.

Repair Process

Had an accident? Don't worry the repair process couldn't be more simple with the help of the expert staff at Droitwich Garage Bodyshop. Whether you are referred via your insurance company or choose to use our services independently there are just 10 easy steps to ensure your vehicle is repaired and returned to you as quickly as possible.

What happens next?

Step One

Depending on the age of your vehicle, the extent of the damage and the insurance company, we will arrange to either bring your vehicle to us as soon as possible or an estimator will visit your home to carry out an inspection and take digital photographs.

If your vehicle has been involved in a minor accident and is safe to drive, by bringing it into us, an estimate will normally be completed in more than 15 minutes.

A computerised estimate will be compiled and copies sent to you and your insurance company.

Step Two

We will order any parts which require replacing during the repair. Occasionally unusual parts may be unavailable immediately due to 'factory back order'. In this event we may need to call you to reschedule the repair commencement date.

Step Three

The insurance company will authorise us to proceed with repairs. This normally takes 48 hours. However, should the estimated cost of repairs be close to the current market value of the vehicle the insurance company may choose to send a field engineer to assess the vehicle. Some insurance companies will not allow us to commence work without authority. This may result in a short delay between your vehicle arriving at the body shop and the work commencing. Therefore while estimated completion dates are as accurate as possible they cannot be guaranteed. Other insurers will allow repairs under a certain value to commence immediately.

Step Four

Once we have received authority our bodyshop management system will schedule the repair. The system draws on information such as courtesy car availability, resources of technicians and your specific repair details to find a date when the repair can be completed in the shortest period of time.

Step Five

If a mobile estimator carried out the inspection at Step One a member of the customer liaison team will contact you to agree a convenient booking date in conjunction with the schedule.

Step Six

Repairs will commence.

Step Seven

Our customer liaison team is happy to answer any questions you may have during the repair process. Please feel free to telephone or email if you require regular updates. Otherwise we will not normally contact you until one day before the vehicle is to be returned.

Step Eight

A member of the customer liaison team will contact you to arrange a convenient time for you to collect your vehicle.

Step Nine

Upon collection we will ask you to sign a satisfaction note to confirm you have received the vehicle back into you care and are 100% satisfied with the repair.

Step Ten

We will collect any payment due at this time. We regret vehicles cannot be released without payment. Cash, cheques and credit cards are accepted.
